From the Meetingroom to the Workbench

For years, my world revolved around deadlines, emails, and an endless stream of meetings that rarely led to tangible results. While my "career" was in full swing, a realization slowly took hold: I would rather spend my time creating beautiful objects — pieces that bring a spontaneous smile to my clients' faces and can be enjoyed by the next generation.

So, I traded my keyboard for a plane and a chisel. In my workshop in Bruges, I leave the fleeting nature of the corporate world behind to focus on what truly matters to me: the joy of making, pride in the final result, and pure professional craftsmanship.

A Passion for Wood

As an artisanal furniture maker working day in, day out with wood—a material so warm, unique, and full of character—I find fulfillment on two fronts. First, the creative side: collaborating with the client to design a fitting, functional piece of furniture or a small chest that reflects their unique personality. Second, the technical side: following the "rules of the art" to transform a raw piece of wood into a finished masterpiece. This same philosophy applies to furniture restoration: with reverence for the piece’s history, I lay the foundation for its future—bringing these items back to life with patience and a deep respect for original traditional techniques.
